Inter-state transactions may come under tax ambit
With less than five months left for the proposed roll-out of the Goods and Services Tax (GST), the empowered group of state finance ministers today suggested a model of inter-state goods and services tax (IGST) for inter-state transactions. The Centre would levy GST which would comprise central and state GST, with appropriate provision for consignment or stock transfer of goods and services.

RCOM will team with local value added services (VAS) partners to implement the projects and connect various government departments on the mobile data platform. When contacted, a Reliance Communications spokesperson confirmed the development but declined to divulge the financials of the contracts. He said the company is working with local VAS business associates in Kerala, Mumbai and Maharastra circles to establish mGovernance infrastructure. According to market estimates, the annual revenue will be over Rs 900 crore from these mGovernance projects. The company is also in discussions for mGovernance infrastructure contracts for Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Karnataka, sources said.
